Royal Tour Day 1: Duchess Kate glitters at Bollywood Charity Gala

This evening, The Duke and Duchess were back at the Taj Palace Hotel to attend a glittering gala reception held in their honour to celebrate Mumbai’s film and creative industries.  Guests included celebrities from Bollywood and some of Mumbai’s leading business leaders, politicians and charity workers.

Kate wore a stunning royal blue Jenny Packham gown. The chiffon silk bespoke dress was beaded in India along with the matching cape and clutch.

Kate styled her hair in an elegant up-do, the perfect choice to showcase her statement earrings from Indian jeweler, Amrapali.  The earrings are very similar in design to the Amrapali Lapis & Diamond Double Oval Drop Earrings (US$2,900).

The consensus is that Kate wore a new pair of black suede wavy strap heels from Prada. However, the jury is out on whether she’s wearing the designer's slingback or ankle strap version.

ID UPDATE (13 Jul 2017):
We got a better look at the sandals when the Duchess stepped out in them again for avisit to the Natural History Museum. We presumed they were black but it appears that they are in fact plum.

That wraps up Day 1 of Royal Visit India! It was a long and exhausting day, so I can only imagine how the Duke and Duchess feel! We'll do it all again tomorrow, starting with their morning visit to The Social, a  collaborative workspace for young entrepreneurs.
