The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge held an audience on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine and First Lady Olena Zelenska, at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday morning.
Kate wore a new cornflower blue belted fit-and-flare dress. I believe it was a deliberate colour choice because the contrast of the blue against the yellow sofa, symbolizes the national colours of the Ukrainian flag! There has been no confirmation regarding the designer of the frock.
It's been suggested it may be a bespoke Emilia Wickstead dress. @RoyalWikipedia notes the belt design is similar to the Emilia Wickstead Rectangluar Buckle Belt and was seen in a custom colourway with the designer's 'Kate' dress which the Duchess debuted last November.
Kate also wore a new sapphire and diamond pendant necklace.
@allthingsroyal suggests the stones may originate from the Saudi sapphire suite which was a wedding gift to Prince Charles and Princess Diana from the Saudi Royal Family.
Below is a recollection of some the occasions the late Princess of Wales wore pieces from the parure.
The Duchess complemented the necklace with her beloved 'Diana' sapphire & diamond earrings.
Kate finished the ensemble with her Gianvito Rossi 'Gianvito 105' Praline Suede Pumps.
