The Festival commemorates all those who have lost their lives in conflicts and it is usually attended by the Royal Family.  It is organized by the Royal British Legion and is held annually on the eve of Remembrance Sunday.

William and Kate joined King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior members of the Royal Family at London's Royal Albert Hall for the British Legion's traditional televised service.  A special tribute was also made to the late Queen Elizabeth II as the longest serving Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces.

I don't personally like the combination of a belted blazer with a midi skirt or that beautiful choker necklace with hair down rather than up but she still looked lovely.

I liked this style a lot when Kate debuted it in white at Buckingham Palace, I liked it for evening and was quite taken with the blazer/skirt combination and all the contrast that worked in via texture and weight.

I'm not so sure it works as well in black, though I think it was a clever switch to take the jacket from white boucle into dark crepe and satin. I think Kate can just get away with it on this occasion being an evening event and maybe ok with the lacy skirt. I didn't think it was appropriate for the funeral worn by another royal family member, but was afraid that was just me being old-fashioned!

I find it tempting to wonder if Catherine might have bought this Self Portrait dress in black at the same time as she acquired the cream version, and has had to sit and watch as others made use of the sombre version before her. It looks very well here for a festival occasion with the hint of frou-frou in the lacy hem fitting well with evening. I thought it also looked well on Beatrice at the vigil.

I love seeing the Princess make more use of royal jewels and these Bahrain earrings and the late Queen’s Japanese pearls make a lovely and significant combination. When worn without jewellery at the neck the dress has looked well, and I think it may be pushing things to try and fit a four-row pearl choker into the neckline of a relatively busy outfit with its many details. There’s no doubt however that Catherine photographs very well wearing it all, and that it is status-enhancing in her new role.
